program notes: Wait, weight sit” stages image making in an expanded cinema setting, within reach of object theater and painting. My life is arranged around where these objects need to be and when. I am thinking about how many lives are arranged around where objects need to be and when. I am thinking about my grandfather who lived in Fort Myers and spent his days collecting cans from neighbors, dumpsters, and roadsides, arranging them in his driveway and flattening them beneath the tires of his cadillac. I am thinking about when something becomes an image and my insistence upon entering the image plane. My living room has been rearranged two times in the process of finding these few words for you. I see the objects I use as placeholders for words I will find later and these performances as maps for that endeavor. Tire tired bed slat bolt roll.
