Headless Buddha, 2023, Chicago, 30 Minute video, select stills
A broken plastic buddha was donated to the resale shop where I work. I later found out that buddhas in southeast Asia have frequently been decapitated and sold to Western collectors. Using this small plastic buddha like a viewfinder, I went for a walk to the Art Institute of Chicago to see if I could find his head. Security asked me to stop filming in the museum so I continued my search at the Chicago souvenir shop across the street and the comic book store around the corner.
